Plans for tidal flood barrier considered for River Humber

If it goes ahead it would be four times the size of the one in the River Thames

A tidal barrier four times the size of the one in the River Thames is being considered, to help protect homes near the Humber from flooding.

Climate change could see places nearby, such as Grimsby and Cleethorpes, face flooding in the years to come as sea levels are predicted to rise.

A twenty five year plan is being put together by the Environment Agency and Councils.
