Grimsby restaurant fined for putting peanut in "nut free" dish

It's feared it could trigger a severe reaction from someone with a peanut allergy

A Grimsby restaurant has been fined, after an illegal amount of peanut was found in a dish that was supposed to be nut free.

Undercover officers ordered the takeaway from Spice of Life in 2017, which was found to have enough peanut in it to trigger a reaction in someone with a severe allergy.

The then director Mohamed Abdul Saleek of Welhome Road pleaded guilty to offences under the Food Safety Act.

He was fined 5 hundred pounds and ordered to pay a victim charge of over one thousand seven hundred pounds at Grimsby Magristrates.
