Mince pies are a must for the festive season. For me Christmas starts with making pies, make masses as they disappear rapidly! This topping is an unusual alternative to a pastry lid.
Coffee Whiskey Cake
Defiantly a cake for adult tastes, but you could leave the whisky out if serving for children. The topping of cream is optional or you could use butter cream flavoured with coffee. Serves 8

These are great for a picnic as they are easy to pack and transport, good for packed lunches too. Makes 12-14 squares

FUDGY CHOCOLATE PUDDING
This is a recipe certain to delight all chocolate lovers and those who appreciate puddings. It goes into the oven with the sauce on top and comes out with a rich fudgy sauce hidden under the sponge. It is incredibly easy to make and so tasty, perfect to make for Mothering Sunday.
We think of pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, when in fact they make an ideal sweet for anytime of the year. This is slightly adventurous, but fun to make and rather like an illusion, as the ice cream in the centre is cooked- yet still remains frozen.
This makes a wonderful dessert to serve to your loved one for a romantic Valentine meal.
This is a variation on an old fashioned favourite of chocolate crispies. These chocolate covered cornflakes mixed with coconut and fruit make perfect little sweets for Halloween and Bonfire Night.

British Summer heralds the most delicious strawberries and of course Wimbledon Fortnight strawberries are a must. The chocolate in this Pavlova makes it just a little different and works really well with the strawberries. Perfect to serve for a gathering.
